Do you know cross roller bearings?
Cross ball bearing and cross roller bearing are both rolling bearings.
Simply put, one rolling element is a ball, that is, a steel ball. The other rolling element is a steel column.
The radial pressure of roller bearing is better than that of ball bearing. But the speed is low.
Ball bearing:
A kind of rolling bearing, the ball is installed between the inner and outer steel rings, and can withstand a large load. It is also called a ball bearing.
Ball bearings mainly include four basic components: ball, inner ring, outer ring and cage or retainer, as shown in the figure.
General industrial ball bearings meet the AISI52100 standard. The ball and ring are usually made of high chromium steel, and the Rockwell C-scale hardness is about 61-65.
The hardness of the retainer is lower than that of the ball and ring, and its materials include metal (such as medium carbon steel, aluminum alloy)
or non-metal (such as Teflon, PTEF, polymer materials).
The rolling bearing has less rotational friction resistance than the journal bearing,so the temperature generated by friction will be lower at the same speed.
Roller bearing:
The rolling element is a radial rolling bearing with cylindrical rollers. The cylindrical rollers and raceways are line contact bearings.
It has a large load capacity and mainly bears radial loads. The friction between the rolling element and the rib of the ring is small, which is suitable for high-speed rotation.
According to whether the ring has ribs, there are single-row bearings such as NU, NJ, NUP, N, NF, and double-row bearings such as NNU and NN.
The bearing has a separable inner and outer rings. The inner and outer rings of cylindrical roller bearings without ribs on the inner
or outer rings can move relative to each other in the axial direction, so they can be used as free-end bearings.
Cylindrical roller bearings with double ribs on one side of the inner ring and outer ring and a single rib on the other side of the ring
can withstand a certain degree of axial load in one direction. Generally, steel plate stamping cages or copper alloy machined cages are used.
However, some also use polyamide formed cages.
Main uses: large and medium-sized motors, locomotives, machine tool spindles, internal combustion engines,
generators, gas turbines, reduction gearboxes, rolling mills, vibrating screens, and lifting and transportation machinery, etc.
