How to choose a slewing bearing?

Each type has different characteristics according to its design to meet the requirements of different applications.

1. Rotation accuracy

When the bearing's ability to accurately position is required, a crossed roller slewing bearing is usually selected.

2. Carrying capacity

Carrying capacity is one of the factors that determine the size of the bearing. Under normal circumstances,
a four-point contact ball slewing bearing can withstand heavier radial loads and impact loads, so it is suitable for heavier loads
and occasions where the size and direction of the load may change.

3. Operating temperature

In most cases, the allowable operating temperature of the slewing bearing depends mainly on the grease, isolation block and sealing material.

The permissible operating temperature range for slewing bearings is generally -25 to +70°C.

4. Vibration

For applications involving vibration, both preloaded four-point contact ball slewing bearings and crossed cylindrical roller slewing bearings are suitable.

5. Operating speed

Four-point contact ball slewing bearings generate less friction than crossed cylindrical roller slewing bearings and have a higher limiting speed.

6. Seals

Seals are critical to the performance of slewing bearings. Qualified seals used in slewing bearings provide good protection
against moisture and contamination, and ensure that there is sufficient grease in the bearing, thereby extending the service life of the bearing.
