How to properly maintain bearings?
To ensure that the bearing can run stably for a long time and extend its service life, proper maintenance is essential. Here are some key maintenance steps and precautions:
Regular inspection and recording: Check the appearance, lubrication status and abnormal vibration or noise of the bearing frequently. When removing the bearing for inspection, use photography and other methods to record the appearance, confirm the amount of remaining lubricant and sample the lubricant.
Cleaning and washing: Put the bearing in a suitable cleaning agent (such as neutral water-free diesel or kerosene), use a brush to remove grease and adhesives during rough washing, and slowly rotate the bearing in the oil during fine washing and wash carefully.
Lubrication and maintenance: Choose a suitable lubricant according to the use and technical requirements of the bearing. Usually, lubricating oil needs to be added every 100 hours of operation. For equipment under high temperature, high humidity or special working conditions, it may be necessary to increase the frequency of refueling. At the same time, the lubricant should be replaced regularly, and avoid mixing different types of grease, because mixing new and old grease may cause adverse reactions.
Storage and preservation: Unused bearings should be stored in an environment with a humidity of less than 65% and a temperature of about 20°C, and placed on a shelf 30cm above the ground. When stored for a long time, it should be re-inspected and maintained every 6 months.
Following the above steps and precautions can effectively maintain the performance of the bearing and extend its service life.
